Welcome To Manonmaniam Sundaranar University

Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU) is one of the universities which is located in Tirunelveli of an area of 550 acres in the southern part of Tamil Nadu. It is a changing institution for higher education. The university was inaugurated in 1990 by the government and it is name after Tamil poet Prof. P. Manonmaniam Sundaranar Pillai the author of the famous drama “Manonmaniam”.

The university is located at a place called Abhisekapatti which is located 8 kilometers from the Tirunelveli junction. The university provide all the needs for the four district of Tamil Nadu that are Tirunelveli Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi and Tenkasi. The university contains 5 centres and 23 departments. The centres are specially created for the Directorate of the Vocational Training and Distance and Online Education.

The university is accredited ‘A’ grade in the 3rd cycle by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The university is associates with 108 colleges out of that 6 are Manonmaniam Sundaranar colleges. On that 6 colleges, there are 28 teaching department including 5 centres and 1,26,030 students are studying in it.

The university is one of the developed institutions which provide Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and the online programmes through SWAYAM and NPTEL. The UG,PG and research programmes have been carefully chosen and provide all the needs to the region. All the departments have Wi-fi connectivity for the students. The University provide accessible quality education to the under privileged students and to the unreachable sections of the place in that region.
